Hooray! You have decided to adopt a new labradoodle puppy. Now what? Along with the decision of adoption comes a lot of questions of what do you need to prepare for your new puppy coming home? I have created this page to hopefully help you in making the preparation a little easier. Please feel free to contact me at any time with any questions you may have.
1. What food is my new puppy eating?
We feed all our puppies Purina Pro Plan Focus puppy food. You can find this at pet stores or Tractor supply. You can also order this from Chewy.com and have it delivered to your door. Click here to order from Chewywww.chewy.com/purina-pro-plan-focus-puppy-chicken/dp/52417?utm_id=27615258&msclkid=0e7908c4d4d219a6a4b25302feb4f160&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Shopping-Product%20Targets&utm_term=1100000047568&utm_content=All%20Products
2. Food and water bowls
Here is one with good reviews from Amazon:www.amazon.com/URPOWER-Stainless-Non-Skid-Silicone-Feeder/dp/B01JZ8YEIG/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1539714176&sr=8-6&keywords=food+and+water+bowls+for+dogs
3. Leash and Collar/Harness
I highly recommend Lavilla Dog works for your leash and collars. Gina is wonderful to work with and aims for customer satisfaction. Their leashes and collars are well made and are very durable. You can choose from a variety of fun designs, as well as which kind of clasp you prefer. Gina is happy to help answer any questions you may have. You can also find them on Facebook atwww.facebook.com/LaVillaDogWorks/
At the time of take home (around 8 weeks old) your puppies neck will be approx. 7"-9".

4. Dog crate
I personally recommend buying a larger crate right away and petitioning it off for the puppy. This just keeps from you having to buy multiple crates as the puppy grows. Such as this one from Chewy.comwww.chewy.com/midwest-lifestages-double-door-dog/dp/51247?utm_id=27654927&msclkid=c7067e8bc52a1d077fc7254de2e7d447&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Shopping-Product%20Targets-Hard%20Goods&utm_term=4584551172816874&utm_content=MidWest
5. Puppy bed
I personally like something I can wash and keep clean and this is a bed that you can wash if you would like to. Different sizes available so you can choose if you want to go big or start small. https://www.amazon.com/Reversible-Print-White-Measures-Machine/dp/B001CS0RA2/ref=sr_1_26?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1539734669&sr=1-26&keywords=puppy+beds+for+large+dogs
6. Puppy blankets (optional)
If you are wanting something to throw on your couch or chairs for your fur baby to sit on here is a good option https://www.amazon.com/PAWZ-Road-Skin-Friendly-Double-Sided-Shedding/dp/B07DWSCHDS/ref=sr_1_16?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1539734955&sr=1-16-spons&keywords=puppy+blankets+for+medium+dogs&psc=1
7. Dog Treats
There is an endless list of dog treats you can choose from. The main thing that I watch for is how the puppy responds to the treat. If you notice loose stools I would switch to something different. Here are a few options:
8. Toys
There are lots of toy options out there as well. Here are a few that I know that the puppies enjoy. You can never go wrong with a regular tennis ball. (tip- I have learned that the tennis balls found in the puppy toy section do not hold up as well as a regular tennis ball that you find in the sports section)
9. Grooming tools
Here are a few good recommendations for grooming your labradoodle.
The undercoat is what you want to watch with your labradoodle. It can start to matte underneath. These are some tools that will help to keep it maintained.
